Filipino Bakunawa (Dragon) Wood Mask
Hand-carved wooden mask depicting the Bakunawa, the mythic dragon-serpent of Filipino folklore said to devour the moon and govern cycles of darkness, eclipse, and return. The exaggerated fangs, pierced eyes, and horned crown give the piece a fierce, protective presence, while the warm patina highlights the skill of the carving and age of the wood.
Traditionally associated with liminal moments, cosmic balance, and ancestral storytelling, this mask carries both visual impact and deep mythic symbolism. A striking artifact for collectors of folk art, ritual objects, or Southeast Asian mythology.
Listing is for one mask; we have two available.
Masks measure 12" tall and 5.5" wide.
