The Store & the Collection

True Story was born over ten years ago from a love of antiques and pieces with a past. In 2021, we purchased an old mansion in Hendersonville. It was operating as an inn at the time and was filled with beautiful pieces. We already had quite the collection of our own, so we began the process of thinning things out.

What started as selling through the marketplace slowly turned into a small backyard showroom, and from there, into the space we have today—just three blocks off Main Street.

True Story Antiques is now a curated consignment shop, filled with eclectic antiques sourced from a variety of local sellers. Each piece is carefully selected to keep the store cohesive, layered, and true to its roots. You won’t find crafts or handmade goods here—only authentic antiques, each with a history and a place in the larger story of the shop.

We’ve built this space to feel like stepping into a collection rather than a store, where everything has been chosen with intention, and nothing feels out of place.

We invite you to come in, take your time, and wander. We’ll soon be offering wine and beer, creating a space to slow down, stay awhile, and enjoy the experience. We’d love to meet you and hear your story.
